Went back to Cherokee to get some Lye soap, exchange Ant's water shoes, then we headed off to Clingman's Dome -- the highest point on the Eastern Seaboard.  Afterwards, we drove through the park, then the over-crowded Gatlinburg TN.  The park was beautiful was stunning vistas. We didn't stop in Gatlinburg, but headed to Pigeon Forge for lunch before going to Cades Cove.  I was so exhausted I let Ant drive back for an hour to the main highway in the park.  I actually fell asleep! We returned by about 7pm.  We made a quesadilla with leftover steak and drank a rum and coke.  Evelyn and Charles are staying in site 75 in the state park.  We were too tired to hang out with them tonight.  It is 8:48pm and I'm headed asleep soon.  No ice cream tonight. 

Started the day with delicious quiche at my favorite coffee shop in Bryson.   The owner said she’s selling the place for 220,000.   Went to see property in Bryson City.   It was a bust didn’t look promising.   We then tootled to Cherokee via Whittier.   It felt t like a long way. We shopped for a couple of hours and Anthony made some purchases.   Lunch was trying because there were FEW places to eat.   After several attempts we got a good sushi roll at Kobe Express which we ate at () park in Cherokee.   After lunch, feeling rejuvenated, we headed to Maggie Valley to see a second property.   Again, it’s appears to be hard to get too and since there is a ski resort in MV, it may be too high.   Really liking the river side spots.   From Maggie valley we headed to () ranger station where we walking round the farm.   Then we headed to the Grist mill for a visit and on the way back, we saw three elk in the median causing a traffic ja...

We decided to give Pricilla a run for her money.  After installing the bed frame, a new mattress, a dresser and two chairs, we were pretty much ready for a test drive.  So, we booked two nights Savannah Oaks RV Resort. The resort was only about 30 miles from Hardeeville, so should we have needed anything we were close enough to get home.  Two nights was also long enough to try cooking, taking care of the dog, and enjoying the great outdoors. The RV park was nice but most were longer term residents and contractors working in the area.  I was questioned by the woman who checked us in about the origin of the camper.  I said I bought it, so she proceeded to check us in.  The nights were cold enough to try out the radiant floor heating and warm enough in the afternoon to turn on the AC.  Our neighbors in MV provided a propane fire pit and powerful fan, both worked to reduce bites from the mosquitos.  All in all, Anthony and I had a successful maiden vo...

In Fall of 2019, I finally decided to acquire a aluminum cargo trailer to convert to a camper.  As I have mentioned before, I do not know how to build light so if I start with a light shell, how much damage could I do?  Anyway, it was December before the Cargo Trailer arrived.  Johno, my buddy from across the street in Zephyrhills, helped me remove the walls and install insulation and rewire the 30amp circuit.   The night before leaving for South Carolina, I was able to complete the laminate floor installation. Off to SC, arriving three days before the New Year. As it would turn out, I would not complete the move until the end of June, but several weekends Winter and Spring of 2020 in SC provided cool weather to complete the conversion.   First, the ceiling went up, then the walls, then the electrical was completed and tested.  Afterwards, I started the countertop for the kitchen, installed a pre-built kitchen cabinet and a larger under-the-c...
